THERESA KARUNAKARAN

Theresa Karunakaran has a background rich in regulation and supervision with the Reserve Bank of India, India’s Central Bank. She holds a PG degree in Economics, PGDM, and is a certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. In a career spanning over 36 years with the RBI, she has worked in all the key areas of central banking, with the major part being in the area of regulation and supervision of banks and non-banking finance companies.
In her last assignment with RBI, she was responsible for banking supervision policy, driving supervisory initiatives like Risk Based Supervision, thematic supervisory reviews etc. and was also Central Public Information Officer for the Department of Banking Supervision. She has been a member of several Working Groups in the RBI for banking policy and bringing about changes in processes in RBI. She represented RBI in interactions with Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, IMF, World Bank, overseas Bank Supervisors and rating agencies. She represented RBI in the first 3-member international Bank Supervisors’ team, constituted by Financial Stability Board to assess Bank of Mauritius compliance with Basel Core Principles, which included representatives from Bafin, Germany and Treasury, Government of Australia.
 
After retiring from RBI as General Manager, she has worked with Axis Bank the third largest private sector bank in India, as Advisor till July 2015. She is currently Director Compliance -Regulatory Affairs, at Deutsche Bank, AG India, a position she has held since August 2015. She has authored a White paper on Risk Based Supervision in banks and is a resource person for National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) and was also resource person for offsite MDP programmes of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata.

      Note:

  • Participants will receive a joining link to the online session on the registered email address at least three days before the session date.
  • The joining link will also contain a short tutorial video on how to use the online platform.
  • During the live session, phone and chat support will be available to participants.
  • The weblink to answer the examination will be sent immediately to the participants via email after the virtual classroom session and may be answered within 7 days.
  • The examination will be based on the content covered during the virtual classroom session. It will consist of multiple-choice questions which will have to be answered within 30 minutes.
  • Participants who are unable to attend the virtual classroom or face connectivity issues will be allowed to view the session recording so that they can prepare for the examination.

If a participant is unable to join the live session due to connectivity issues or due to another problem, s/he may write to us at support@fintelekt.com to request access to a recording of the session.

The recording may be accessed for up to 7 calendar days after the session.

You can join the session through a laptop, personal computer, tablet or mobile. A stable internet connection of at least 2 Mbps speed is recommended for uninterrupted streaming.

Please note that some banks block employee access to external emails, webinar platforms, or audio/visual hardware. Kindly contact the technology team of your bank to resolve any such issues. Or alternatively, use a personal computer to log in to the session.

COURSE CONTENT AND DELIVERY

Is the course/content customised to my country?

This is a generic course which is suitable for participants from any country. It covers the topic irrespective of the country you are based in.

May I send in my questions in advance before the virtual classroom session?

We strongly encourage you to listen to the virtual classroom session before asking questions. If your questions are not answered during the session, please feel free to post them in the chat box during the allotted question-answer time at the end of the session.

What if my question is not taken up for answering during the question-answer session?

If we receive a large number of questions during the question-answer time allotted during the virtual classroom session, we may prioritise which ones to answer and take up a few of the questions offline. We will send answers to the unanswered questions via email to individual participants.

What is the passing percentage for the examination?

The passing percentage is 80 per cent.

What if I fail?

If you do not pass the examination in the first attempt, you can attempt it a second time. If you do not pass in the second attempt, you will not be eligible for the certificate and will have to re-enroll for the next batch of the course and pay the course fees again.

For how long is the certificate valid?

The certificate is valid in perpetuity.

PAYMENT

Can you invoice my bank for the amount?

Due to the small amount involved, we are unable to invoice the bank for individual participants. We encourage participants to pay online and get the amount reimbursed from the employer.

I have paid but have not received a confirmation. What do I do?

Please send a screenshot of the payment confirmation to us at support@fintelekt.com. We will get back to you within two working days after reconciliation with our payment service provider.

Can I get a refund?

We do not provide a refund once payment is made.
